Chinese New Year Concert 2015 - Hunan Orchestra of Chinese Music

The Hunan Folk Orchestra from China made their debut tour to Australia performing at the Chinese New Year Concert held at City Recital Hall on Friday 20 Feb, 2015, 7.30pm, as part of the CNY15 Festival organised by the City of Sydney.

The Chinese New Year Concert brought an enticing array of authentic Chinese music to Sydney for one night in a selection of well-known Chinese classics performed by a professional group of accomplished musicians.

The Hunan Orchestra of Chinese Music is the only orchestra known for integrating Chinese and Western music sensibilities in the Hunan Province, and has helped to facilitate intercultural relationships with other countries and Hunan over the years. Having toured in dozens of countries across Europe, Asia and Africa, the orchestra’s debut in Australia was particularly unique as they performed a joyous concert specifically for the Chinese Lunar New Year celebrations in Sydney.
