Luner New Year Concert 2024 - Chang'an in the fantasy world

The Lunar New Year Concert 2024 is a musical celebration of the Year of the Dragon. The unique concert features ten outstanding young performers from the Xi'an Song and Dance Theater, forming an innovative ensemble with its own halo. You will see a brand-new way of performance, which is a kind of musical storytelling, emotional visualization, and vivid expression of instrumental performance.

Set against the backdrop of the historical tales of Chang'an in China, this production incorporates traditional Chinese musical instruments such as pipa, guzheng, erhu, and more. Structured into distinct chapters, each marked by unique styles, intentions, and innovative segments, the creative team draws inspiration from the distinctive cultural heritage of Shaanxi. With a fusion of compelling stage concepts and contemporary artistic expressions and various costumes, the performance promises to captivate audiences.

As the annual featured event in the Happy Chinese New Year in Sydney initiated by Ausfeng Events and China Cultural Centre in Sydney since 2014, the concert will showcase diverse creativities and illuminate the depth and breadth of cultural celebrations.

Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra’s Australia Tour 2023

The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will return to Australia presenting the "Image China" concert "From Dream of the Red Chamber to the Terracotta Warriors." at the Melbourne Town Hall, Sydney Town Hall and Brisbane City Hall in mid-December 2023 after a 40-year hiatus.

Led by Mr. Yan Huichang, current Artistic Director, and Lifetime Conductor of the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, 80 outstanding members of the orchestra will features the "Dream of the Red Chamber Suite," adapted from the iconic 1987 TV series soundtrack, offering a profound taste of this classic tale. Additionally, Peng Xiuwen's "Fantasia, Terracotta Warriors" will convey the weighty historical significance through classical instruments. A special highlight of this performance is the Eco-Huqin developed by Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, which is more eco-friendly in material, and achieves breakthroughs in the depth, texture, and thickness of traditional string instruments, providing you with a unique and enriching musical experience.

China National Symphony OrchestraAustralian Tour 2023

The China National Symphony Orchestra will make their return to Australia this year after an absence of six years. Over 80 musicians make up this world-class orchestra under the baton of CNSO’s conductor Maestro Li Xincao. They will perform one concert only at Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne on 28 November, 1 & 2 December respectively. The concert also features violinist Lu Siqing, the first Asian prizewinner of the Paganini Competition.

Prestigious conductor Li Xincao has shown his adaptability to different programs and his correct understanding of different styles of works. He was praised especially for his excellent performance in German and Austrian works and in the new works by the Chinese contemporary composers. Over the years, Li Xincao has spread music to all five continents with worldwide recognition both in the field of symphony and opera. In particular, he has led China National Symphony Orchestra for historic visits around the world, winning enthusiastic responses and high praise from authoritative music critics from all over the world.

Well-recognized as one of the most outstanding Chinese violinists of today, Lu Siqing performs regularly with major national and international orchestras. As the first asian violinist to win the esteemed International Paganini Violin Competition, Lu's performances have received great acclaim in some of the world's most prestigious concert halls and in more than forty countries and territories, including the Musikverein in Vienna, Avery Fisher Hall and Alice Tully Hall in New York City, Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, Sydney Opera House, among others.

The China National Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1956, is the most outstanding Chinese orchestra and has been instrumental in promoting and developing the art of symphonic music in China, introducing Chinese audiences to a large repertoire of classical, romantic, modern and contemporary orchestral works by both Western and Asian composers. Serving as a cultural ambassador, CNSO have engaged in intercultural dialogues and promoted friendship between China and the world through music during many international tours.

The CNSO has performed with many top artists including Herbert von Karajan, Seiji Ozawa, Charles Dutoit, Krystof Penderecki, David Oistrakh, Yehudi Menuhin, Isaac Stern, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Martha Argerich, Mischa Maisky, Giuseppe Giacomini, Lang Lang, Wang Yuja and Han-Na Chang.
During the past decades, the CNSO has undertaken international tours to the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Spain, Mexico, Japan, and many other cities. The London Times praised the orchestra “as a sophisticated musical group with vigorous sounds and excellent technique.” The Washington Post mentioned the Orchestra “is a solid, energetic and meticulously drilled ensemble.”

For the Orchestra’s Australian tour 2023, the CNSO will perform a selection of masterpieces including Overture Dance of The Yao People, The Butterfly Lovers composed by He Zhanhao and Chen Gang and Beethoven Symphony No. 7 in A Major op. 92. Overture Dance of the Yao People is one of the best known and most popular Chinese instrumental compositions of the second half of the 20th century that inspired by the long drum dance. The Butterfly Lovers is one of the most famous Chinese works of orchestral music written for a Western-style orchestra, an adaptation of an ancient legend, the Butterfly Lovers. Beethoven Symphony No. 7 in A Major op. 92 is remarked by Beethoven as one of his best works and the second movement, "Allegretto" is frequently performed separately to this day.

The "East Meets West" Orchestral Concert - Coming to Adelaide

Following a fully sold-out performance at the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall just last month, the “East Meets West” Orchestral Concert Tour will be making its final rounds at Adelaide Town Hall 7:30-9:30pm on the 17th of November 2022.

Featuring a stellar lineup of Eastern and Western Classics such as the representative Chinese works the “Butterfly Lovers” Violin Concerto and the “Yellow River” Piano Concerto alongside Georges Bizet’s “Habanera” as heard in Carmen, this is sure to be an unforgettable evening of exquisite entertainment.

Performed by Australia’s extraordinary local talent, esteemed musical performers, and the outstanding Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, the “East Meets West” Orchestral Concert 2022 is a colourful compilation of internationally celebrated classical masterpieces conducted by renowned music maestro Guy Noble.

An ethereal yet haunting rendition of He Zhanho and Chen Gang’s “Butterfly Lovers” violin concerto will be showcased in a stunning synthesis of Eastern and Western sensibilities achieved through the artful juxtaposition of traditional pentatonic melodies and harmonic undertones from the West. This internationally recognized violin concerto is based on an ancient Chinese legend recounting the unbreakable bond between two young lovers, often referred to as China’s very own “Romeo and Juliet”.

The “Yellow River” Piano Concerto is another expressive Chinese masterpiece that will feature on the night. This concerto is an engrossing composition that integrates the classical qualities and typical structure of post-romantic music with poignant themes of passion, beauty and strength. All of this is then paired with a series of technically advanced solos that will leave viewers entranced throughout an enchanting night of unparalleled performances.

— A Live Concert to Celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year 2022

Year of the Tiger in Concert is an evening of orchestral music to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year at Concert Hall, the Concourse Chatswood on Saturday 5 February 2022.

Together with Willoughby Symphony Orchestra and the selected popular Australian Chinese soloists, this all-star cast brings you remarkable and immersive live music experience of authentic classics. The concert features two immensely acclaimed Chinese classics Spring Festival Suite and Tune of Meihu, rarely performed live on Australian stages and launching its Australian premiere.

Emerging Chinese-Australian conductor Shilong Ye, a recipient of ‘Alan Bellhouse Award for a Young Conductor’, will lead this concert. Guest artists include award winning pianist Tony Lee, leading Erhu player Tuqiang Zhang, popular soprano Lei Du, and young Australian mezzo-soprano Nicole Mealey who is a featured Young Artist with Pacific Opera. The artists will be joined by the extraordinary Willoughby Symphony, an exceptional orchestra of international standard.

A joyful exuberant piece, Spring Festival Suite, composed by Huanzhi Li, depicting the scene that folks in Shanbei region were celebrating the Chinese New Year, will highlight the concert with its grand returns with perfect festival ambience to the audiences. The popular Chinese folk song Tune of Meihu, a masterpiece of the well-established Qin Erhu originated from yellow river civilisation, will cheer up the community with the high spirits and unwavering conviction conveyed from this folk song.

East Meets West Orchestral Concert is a rare opportunity for audiences to hear traditional and contemporary music from the east and the west, including two immensely acclaimed Chinese classics rarely performed live on Australian stages, Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto and Yellow River Piano Concerto.

A business visit to CAED

On March 5th 2019, Mr. Li Jinsheng, Chairman of the China Arts and Entertainment Group (CAEG), met with Dr Robert Feng, Director of Ausfeng Group, and his entourage at the headquarters of the group. Mr Li introduced the recent project plan of the group company. He hoped that two parties could cooperate closely and complement each other in future cooperation, further implement the strategic cooperation agreement signed during the first China International Import Expo in 2018, and promote the group’s own brand play "Because of Love" Australia tour plan. Dr Feng introduced Ausfeng Group’s event plan from 2019 to 2020. He hoped that on the basis of the successful cooperation with the dance drama "Legend of Dunhuang" Australia tour experience, Ausfeng will continue to bring outstanding Chinese cultural performance products to Australian audiences. Relevant persons in charge of the China Performance Company attended the meeting together.

The 3rd China Village successfully held in Canberra 2019

The 3rd China Village was successfully held by Ausfeng in associated with Federation of ACT Chinese Associations in Canberra during the National Multicultural Festival (NMF) from 15 - 17 February 2019.

The Chinese cultural handcraft, calligraphy, paintings, tea ceremony and food were displayed in over 30 booths sampling, attracting lots of local residents to come. Audiences couldn’t stop clapping and screaming when they saw theses tremendous performances such as lion dance, acrobatics, singing, which were given by oversea performing groups like Guizhou Opera & Dance Drama Theater, China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Australian local Chinese Association.

National Multicultural Festival is a community festival held annually each February in Canberra and is a platform for cultural exchanges between different ethnic communities. It not only boasts cuisine showcase, but also features varied and exciting art performances presented by various ethnic groups.

An inaugural China Village was setup at NMF in the year of 2017 for the Chinese performing art groups from China and local Chinese community.

Twelve Girls Band - Chinese New Year Concert 2019

To celebrate the Lunar New Year, the prestigious Twelve Girls Band was premiere at Sydney Opera House on Sunday 3 February 2019. The Twelve Girls Band is a chart-topping all-female music group, whose members are much-admired musical ambassadors of Chinese music. By perfectly combining traditional Chinese folk instruments with modern pop music elements such as Latin, Jazz, and Rock, the band creates a musical feast with a focus on oriental rhymes and western charm.
