The late Teresa Teng is one of the world’s most well-known female singers of Chinese descent. she was celebrated for her elegant performances of folk music and moving romantic ballads.

The lead vocalist for this rendition of Teresa Teng songs was undertaken by the gifted young Tong Yao at Australia’s State Theatre on Nov 19, 2014. Tong Yao is a promising talent who won herself the title of 'Little miss Teresa Teng' as champion of China’s national singing contest for Teresa Teng sing-alikes. She recreates the essence of Teresa Teng’s songs with her tender performances, evoking tender memories and waves of nostalgia as she takes her audience back in time using a set of silky vocals.

Australian audiences had the opportunity to experience Tong Yao’s enchanting performance live as she was accompanied by the China National Opera & Dance Theatre orchestra and band in a truly ethereal concert.
