The “Legend of Four Seasons” Spectacular
The “Legend of Four Seasons” theatre performance featured over eighty Chinese dancers and vocalists from the China National Opera & Opera Theatre who performed in Australia for the first time at Sydney’s Town Hall on Nov 17, 2013, followed by a second show at the Star Event Centre on Nov 18.
With over fifty years of experience under their belt, the China National Opera & Dance Theatre (CNODT) is regarded as one of the most respected and widely recognized performing arts troupes in China. In this particular performance, they showcased some of the most popular traditional art forms from China’s rich cultural history. Combining a divine fusion of classical dance, original folk songs and contemporary Chinese opera, this was a theatrical feast for the eyes that manifested the beauty of China’s four seasons in their most authentic and visceral forms.
This spectacular event featured elaborate stage sets, ethereal projections, traditional costumes, dynamic lighting and original scores that came together to reveal the unique depths of China’s lesser-known rural regions. Diverse ethnic groups hailing from Tibet, Uyghur, Mongolia, Korea, and Southeast Asia, took to the stage in an enchanting performance that left the audience captivated long after the curtains closed.
