A Musical Celebration of the Lunar New Year
2026 Lunar New Year Concert, presented in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall, brings together vocal music, instrumental performance and Xiangsheng (comic crosstalk) in a vibrant cross-genre program. Familiar melodies sit alongside contemporary works, with show-style violin and expressive saxophone performances adding colour and energy to the evening.
A line-up of well-known artists, widely recognised from appearances on China’s annual Spring Festival Gala – one of the country’s most watched cultural broadcasts – evokes a powerful sense of shared cultural memory associated with Lunar New Year.
Designed for audiences of all ages, the concert blends music, storytelling and stage artistry to celebrate the festive season with warmth, connection and joy in one of the world’s most iconic performance spaces.
